We were particularly interested in the Siege of Calais where the poor old 30th Brigade got off their Shipping, minus most of their kit, and straight into the defence of the port, this sounded very windy to me!
So my mission is form a few Battalions of BEF Infantry in Command Decision TOE's. I intend to try and use as much classic 1/76 scale figures from Matchbox and Airfix as possible. Hopefully without too much conversions this should be reasonably easy...Gasmask Bags to the fore!!!
Nice project
ReplyDelete1940 has been a favourite of mine too :)
I miss not being able to get my hands on those old Airfix figures (they are now a dwindling resource as the moulds are lost)
I will have to photograph my collection, trouble is I never seem to finish any of it 100%
Oh you still see a few 2nd hand ones around now and then...but hopefully we will see some interesting new moulds from Airfix in 1/76...
ReplyDelete'Flying the flag' I feel I should point out that to some it's known as "The complete and utter collapse of France"!
ReplyDeleteHow's the storm damage/repair coming along?
ReplyDeletelove these Airfix dudes...
ReplyDeleteOne of those coincidences of synergy, with reference to my previous comment, the French Tank Museum at Saumur are calling it L'apocalypse!
ReplyDeleteIf either of you want Afx. Brits, eMail me, I'm sure I can let you have a few, swap for Aussie Flats?
Crikey Hugh! It's good to see your two countries are still at it! I might take you up on that offer, I am unsure what Aussie Flats are though?
ReplyDeleteStorm damage has been patched up to a very rough standard due to a rolled ankle. Once it comes right I will be up there to tidy it up.
ReplyDeleteI think Al come off worse myself...
