Spankimania

I had a welcome visit today from my old chum Dave Spanky, model maker and painter supreme. Dave plays war fulltime for NZ and is off as a Military Observer to the Middle East in two months. I always find it funny that Dave always gets the crappy deployments where people like to think of ways to harm you or the people around you, while I get sent to places like the UK or Aussie where everyone is your friend and just wants to sell you something...Green vs Blue I guess! Any way here's to you Capt Spanky and your 88's that you donated to the hoard today, cheers mate!

By the way, that's his pillow on the stretcher, he's getting on you know!

  1. Will he be issued with a different type of cam? Woodlands would be very conspicuous over there...

  3. Easternfunker, NZ pers in the field on this deployment wear NZ DPM in order to be visible, unlike Aghan where on warlike operations desert DPM is used.

We are all very proud of Dave, after all he has been putting this off for ten years!

  5. Hey mate, DPM or Disruptive Pattern Material is the name for Camouflauge uniforms. You call ours Woodland, but thats a US style. NZ is basically Brit DPM with colours suiting Tropical settings rather than European colours.

You Aussies use a number of, what we call jellybean patterns more in line with the Aussie climate and colours.

    Hope that helps.
