Entrenched

Easternfunker at http://easternfunker.wordpress.com/ wanted me to explain how the entrenched figure stands, so being the gentleman that I am here it goes. Step one: Cut and prep your stand. I always use a flat black paint as I believe it adds some depth.
Step two: Choose your painted figures. They need to be able to fit in your entrenchment.
Step three: Cut your figures at the height you want them to peer over the lip of the cavity.
Step four: Mould the lip of the cavity. I used super clay to shape the area I wanted to highlight. I also use sandbags in the same way. I don't bother to glue them on...just yet anyway.
Step five: Cover the area with PVA white glue. Nice thick coat halfway up the outside of the lip.
