Continuation of the finishing off process for my stands this weekend, I was supposed to be attending an adventure training weekend, but both weather and earthquakes have conspired against that. This conversion is for my Engineers. Lewis LMG stand.
Al gave me a prone Emhar WW1 Lewis gunner, for intention of beefing up my AAMG stands. Since I have made enough of these, it can go into my Engineers group.
Although quite old by the Second World War, the Lewis soldiered on in second line tasks to the end. BEF Engineers certainty would have used them I would suspect.
Both figures from Matchbox British Infantry. Gunner kneeling rifleman minus rifle, while the loader is a Mortar crewman minus bomb. His spare drum magazine is a piece of round sprue.
They look the part, glad to see them finished
