African/Cuban Para's 1980's Support

I have been quite busy today with my Soviets, which will feature this week. Basing and painting, basing and painting...It does get to you after a while, so I took a little time out to add a vehicle to my African/Cuban Para force.
Land Rovers were much the mainstay of the African bush from the 1950's to the 1990's, so I used a diecast Series III LWB to use as a mount for a DShK 12.7mm AAMG. The AAMG is from the Matchbox T34/76 set, while the Land Rover is from Kongwell and was over painted from the UN white colours it came in.
I will attach it to the Support Company where it can add a little punch to the Battalion.

  1. Great stuff. That rover is much better than the JB/Airfix effort I knocked up.SGTS MESS do a range of WW2 MGs with mounts for a reasonable price.A WOMBAT would look the nuts on the back of one them.

  7. Hi Geordie, unsure of rules yet, probably be CD Modern, AK47 is a mystery to me.

I am sure I have seen the rules around on a site somewhere, but I did not take too much notice of it. I am good like that.

  9. That is a vry nice Landy. It seems to be a difficult model to get right - going by the number of poor representations (at least in 6mm and 15mm) I have seen.

  10. Hi Tim, I know what you mean about Land Rover kits. It seems to be all connected to the wheel sizings or width. Not too sure about the metal models though.
