Airfix Buffalo Pt 1

The busiest time of the year sees me a little stretched modelwise, however I have been tinkering with a couple of things. I have began construction of the Airfix version of the Buffalo which for some perverse reason appeals to me. Perhaps it is bumblebee shape, or maybe it's reasonably poor service record with the RAF,RAAF and RNZAF, who knows but it was on the list for must builds.
Part one pretty straight forward, little bit of flash, easy to remove.
Second step, again little flash and pretty good fit.
Ok, it has raised rivets, get over it and sand them down a little. I am far to lazy to do this myself after all it would not be a Airfix kit if it did not have faults.
Engine and prop assembly simple and quick.
Three quarters finished. Total time minus drying about 30 minutes. I will be wheels up for this Buff and am looking at a generic Commonwealth scheme of 1941/42.

  4. Another kit I never built - I had the Revell Buffalo. I do have a 144 scale Buff - I'll dig it out for a photoshoot at some point. I suppose I'd better build some aircraft too.

  6. Cheers Thanos, I think they always look better in the construction phase than at the end when you give it a bad paint job.

Hi Tim, yes get that Buffalo out and photographed, as for the plane build I would not rush it being so close to xmas and all.

Hi Mork, I am not suprised you had not heard about them as they were not that successful in operations (Other than the Finnish who did wounders with them) in the Pacific.
