A wee bit more of the Construction of the Buffalo was achieved however after application of the Black primer coat I noticed that the propeller and spinner did not look quite right.Further inspection of the aircraft revealed that I had mounted the engine too low in the nose, this resulted in the propeller assembly being too low as well. I had glued it in very well and could not get it out, and in the end this tinkering ended in breaking the propeller rod off completely.
Superglued it back in the correct position and hopefully I am now back on track. I also added what I think looks like a gun sight inside the canopy and placed something over the holes at the back of the cockpit where the lifeboat was in the US models as the Commonwealth production aircraft did not have these.
The 1/72 DUKW I recently built reminded me of how frustrating plastic models can be. I lost the tiny stick shift, snapped off the rear view mirrors, and a tire broke off a couple days ago. I like to see your projects, but I'll probably stick to painting simple solid little guys!
ReplyDeleteOOOPS!! This happned to me with the struts on my Albatross...I´d put them all on back to front...when I tried adding the top wings they were strangely far to far at the back...something told me I had done something wrong and I finally read the intructions properly :-)
ReplyDeleteYou´ve managed to save it so not a huge disaster.
I still haven´t got my finger out with my plane yet :-/
Cheers
Paul
