I recently purchased this two aircraft kitset off the net for a reasonable price. Al and I will be going halves's on this and will get one each to build and add to our Japanese forces. Mania is a old kitset maker from the 1970's and did not produce that many types, although Hasegawa later brought the moulds and re-released it under their brand. I have heard good reviews about this kit so cannot wait to get my mitts on it. I just hope Al isn't too competitive about this joint venture!Saturday, December 4, 2010

Nice looking plane...got a bit of a look of a stuka about it..maybe that´s just me :-)
ReplyDeletei like the cammo version. Does it come with decals for the cammo or are you going to stencil them?
Cheers
Paul
PS:::the word verification was the best I´ve seen so far...fright :-)
I have the Hasegawa reboxing of the Mania Nakajima Kate, and it is an exceptional kit(I'll get around to building it sometime soon). I hope that this is just as good.

Sonia must be a relation to a Val (of Tora Tora Tora fame)?
ReplyDeleteYes/No
Of course now that you've announced this purchase you may feel inder pressure to get it built. I recently bought an F-Toys (1/144) set containing some Sonias. Manchuria here we come!

Hi Paul, no stencils and I have been surfing the net looking over some options for a scheme. Cheers about my verification word wise...I think!
ReplyDeleteDimitri, good to know that Mania aircraft deserve the reputation. Get that Kate out!
Hi Geordie, no relation I am afraid, your Val was constructed by Aichi. They do look like sisters though!
ReplyDeleteMr Grow, you are dead right the pressure has started...Plane Month perhaps?
I still have not seen F-Toys here in NZ yet, no suprise there, we are 5 years behind the rest of the world normally.
Paul
ReplyDeleteMy F-toys kits are sent to me from Japan. According to my atlas that's just round the corner from you...
Tim
Cheers for the heads up on the F-Toys location Tim, I will keep an eye out for them.
