Plane Month Ki-51 "Sonia" Pt 3 Final

I finished off the aircraft tonight with the decaling process, which I am happy to report was quick and painless. I also had Al pop in for five minutes to report how much he loves his work and what a cruise his week has been. It's always great when you love your job.
I also added the Ariel and glued the canopy on.
Pretty chuffed with the results and to be honest the kit probably could build itself, it's that well moulded.
Here is the only thing I forgot to do, I should have sanded the two fuselage halves before painting. You live and learn.

  7. I don´t think I could have built and painted a plane that quick and made it look so good.
    Cheers

  8. Well done Paul
    Record breaking speed

I'm still hatching up a plan to steal the Marmite jar from the kitchen cupboard while the wife isn't watching (anyone who has seen the recent re-runs of Colditz will appreciate the difficulty encountered here)

I will just have to paint a plane in December

I have hinted (heavily) at getting an Airfix Fairy Battle as a Xmas present from the in-laws (it certainly beats socks)

    Fingers crossed

  10. It looks very professional - your skill is mighty indeed! I don't have Vegemite or Marmite or any of those around the house - do you think I could use cheap jam instead? I refuse to sacrife my peanut butter, which to me is a staff of life.

  11. Cheers Al and Paul. If it fit goods it looks good.

Geordie if your wife worries about probably less than 1/2 a teaspoon of yeast extract then you are in big trouble. Cause a diversion! I too, am hanging out for a Fairey Battle from Airfix.Good luck on that front.

Eastern Funker, thanks for the praise. How can a Aussie not have Vegemite! I would think that jam would be a mistake (Runny)as would your beloved PB (oily).

    However when in doubt experiment!
