In my quest for post war Soviet armour I picked up a couple of Easy Model T55 pre assembled kits. These are plastic rather than a die cast, an these two were painted in a 1991 Iraqi scheme, which of course is great for the desert, but not so great for European theatres. So time for a re-firb.
Straight out of the box.
Another thing I wanted to add was a Anti Aircraft MG. I grabbed a couple of AAMG's from the Matchbox/Revell T34 kit as they did not figure on the WW2 tank. I then drilled a hole with the modeling knife through the top of the turret in front of the loaders hatch. Dried fit until correct then glued. Job done.

Looking good Paul!
ReplyDeleteWaiting to see them finished!!
T.
Cheers Thanos. It is a nice and simple project, so something to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThey look great for ready built...how much were they?
ReplyDeleteCheers
Paul
I've seen a few of these but they were all wrecks, nice models mate, how muchy?
ReplyDeleteAren't these easy models quit expensive?
ReplyDeleteGreets,
Nice job!I have the Polish version on the shelf.I got my gun barrel for my T-55 from china and the decals came through so up for a T-55 off at the end of the month(still decorating)?
ReplyDeleteCheers Rich.
Looking good - and a damn sight easier than the Blitz!
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen these kits before, did you order online Paul and are they expensive?
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul, The Belgian,Monty. Yes are little pricey, I got this on a auction site with the cost being $27.00 NZD (12.79 quid or 15€).
ReplyDeleteHowever I haggled for a second kit for $50.00 NZD (23.69 quid or 27.78€) including P&P for both. So I was quite happy with that as the Trumpter T55 was $25.00 NZD.
You get what you pay for with these I think as they are well detailed and nicely painted...Until I overpaint them.
Monty I am sure they were distributed by MRC if thats any help. A quick search found this in the UK.
