Spanky Dave back from good times in the desert, has been uploading me photos of his latest project which is a 1/35th 5.0cm Pak 38 from Italeri. Basic assembly finished.
Dave added some brass wire to replace some of the plastic.
The crew or as Italeri like to call them 'Servants' are from the old ESCI 75mm IG kit.
Nice level of detail to be sure.
I was quite surprised to hear that Dave brought this kit for $7.95 NZD from Acorn models in Christchurch last year. Unfortunately Acorn may have been destroyed in the earthquake, if it has it will be a sad loss.
When I first saw the box art I thought..new Pak in 1/72nd?? Bloody nice looking bit of kit...it would be a shame if the firm had been destroyed in the quake Cheers Paul
WOOOOOW. Really nice model. That's going to look good when finished.

It would be a very sad day if Acorn had to close. They're on Manchester St in CHCH. Is that inside the forbidden zone?
ReplyDeleteHi Paul. Dave does love his detail, god bless him. This brass phase is new however.
ReplyDeleteOther Paul (bods Paul). Sorry for the scare mate. If I had a kit that detailed in 1/72 it would not leave the box.
ReplyDeleteMK, I am afraid so. If you have been watching the NZ news, the motorcycle shop that the guy was really worried about his bikes is right next to them.
ReplyDeleteI hope no one was hurt there as well.
Hah, I know that motorcycle bloke too from another forum. I will ask him a question about it.
ReplyDeleteSweet as, keep me posted please.
ReplyDeleteVery detailed kit.A bit scary for me that scale.
ReplyDeleteI know Rich. I am far to lazy myself and all the defects that I would make would show.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
I wish they would convert it to 1/72, I need a PaK38 in that scale!
ReplyDeleteHi laffe, I am pretty sure that Hat/Armourfast have a Pak38 out.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Very nice model! Is this a new one? I can't find it on the Italeri site.
ReplyDelete@Laffe: don't know much about it, but Italeri has a Pak 40 in scale 1/72. ( http://www.italeri.com/SelezioneProdotti.aspx )
