M113 With T50 Turret

I carried out a little work last night on this ex JB Models M113 FSV kit. I seem to have too many of this version anyway so it makes a good donor kit. I think the turret is from a ex ESCI M60A1 MBT. Being a 1/72 scale turret on a 1/76 Hull I think helps in this case. 50 Cal barrel looks a little long.

  1. Nice one,Paul - reminds me a bit of the old 'bastardised' AFV432 with a SABRE turret bolted on the British Army used to operate back in the 80's...:)

  4. Cheers Rich, These kits are very simple compared to the ESCI/Itareli kits. Still might change this yet.

  5. One Saladin turret atop a M113 is probably all you need ;)

    Nice Conversion

Shades of those ARVN A113 conversions outside the Imperial Palace in the Vietnam War!

  6. Hi Geordie, the Saladin (Aussie FSV)option was only used by NZ for trials (Along with the MRV Scorpion M113).

Later on we brought most of the Oz FSV vehicles after they were withdrawn from service and converted them into ambo's.

We and Aussie both used the T50 version with turret, and also Aussie used the M47c turret for a time...oops rivet counting.

The pic above looks more like the M47c than the T50.
