Some touch up painting completed. I left some of the alloy colour around the windscreen as they seemed to wear like crazy around here.
Different shades for the tarps, the one on the left I will probably use as a NZ wagon. Kiwis for the most part used Series 3, 3.5 V8 'Stage One', 109in WB versions produced 1982-86. The hood was longer to accommodate the gas guzzler, but they look fairly much the same from a distance.
Very nicely done Paul. Very nice indeed.

They are beautiful, Paul! In german we would say :Hut ab!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nick.
ReplyDeleteCheers Mork.
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic Paul. I bet the V8 was fun - so long as you weren't the one paying for the fuel! A friend of mine had a V8 LWB hardtop in the early '90s - it apparently cost him several pounds every time he turned the ignition key...
ReplyDeleteI looked at both post of the Land Rovers, and they're just awesome painted!
ReplyDeleteA mate of me at work went crazy when he saw these. He collect everything about Land Rover. So his first question, when he could talk again, is where he could buy such models?
Do you have a link Paul?
Greetings
Peter
These look great
ReplyDeleteThe bluetack technique is worthy of an artistic prize
Great site; the output and quality of your work is truly inspirational.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, maybe an aerial on one of the last ones for a command vehicle?
ReplyDeleteWow superb work.
ReplyDeleteHi Tim, yes the price for filling one of these up would nowadays be terrible NZD$247.50.
ReplyDeleteSome were converted to diesel in the 90's when they went to Bosnia.
Most people in NZ who brought them when they became surplus fitted LPG tanks to save their wallets from a hiding.
Hi Peter, try the folowing link.

ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
They look bloody excellent mate.
ReplyDeleteThey obviously haven´t been driven about by the artillery...whenever they came back from a couple of days out with them...from three lannies you could maybe get one servicable one put back out of the workshop :-D
Seriously...the look very good.
Cheers
paul
Hi Paul I think most armies were the same with Landrovers. Damn Gunners!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing! I thought they were the real thing, well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carl, quite nice to work with, hence the results.
