NZ Infantry Company 1980's Finished

Final painting and basing completed. In the scenario Al and I are working on one NZ Company will be attached to the RM Battalion giving it a wartime strength of four Companies. NZ Company would be from the Rapid Reaction Force taken probably from 2/1 Bn based at Burnham Military Camp near Christchurch. Enough guff, above Command stand with ESCI NATO (British) SLR rifleman and ESCI Vietnam US trooper. Poor bugger, PRC77 and Starlight scope is quite a load. Platoon stand with Matchbox NATO rifleman with helmet swap (Painted in OD, and he could be a Argentine Soldier from the Falklands) and a ESCI Vietnam US with head and helmet swap.
Last Platoon, both figures from the same sets again. The black band around the M1 helmets is supposed to be car tube rubber which you can attach foliage to in the field.
The whole Company. Quite happy in finishing this Company, and I think they look the part. I learned quite a bit about washes along the way as well.

  1. They are looking good mate. I think you have the brighter green and yellow NZ DPM down rather nicely there.

  2. Thanks Chris. You are right about the brighter colours, I can remember back then using Brit tropical DPM shirts, which looked more like our cam colours, however the temperate DPM which we used to get for winter (actually you used what you could get) was the darker shades.

BTW, the old Brit tropical DPM shirts are still better than what we use now. Damnned flannette Pj's.
