The young fella and I have banished the her indoors and are set for a good night in front of the box. While he watches the A Team Movie, I will follow that up with James Coburn in the much underrated Cross of Iron. Classic stuff!

Looking forward to this as the last time I saw it was 20 or so years ago, so I hope Donna has some knitting, or cleaning or whatever women do when they are banned from the lounge as she will only be allowed in for coffee runs! (Maybe a cheese board as well) Rock on.
Brilliant movie. Its been years since I saw it...must get it on DVD now!
ReplyDeleteWatch out for those T-34s! And that dodgy Captain...
ReplyDeleteJust picked this up for $8.00 from Kmart. Go The Eagle has Landed as well. Had both on VHS in the old days pre DVD. Cross of Iron is a great movie. In fact, I remember seeing 20mm figures of all the characters somewhere.
ReplyDeleteGood on ya mate!
ReplyDeleteNick
Steiner!!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent movie and great book too
And the immortal line
"Demarcation"
Could not agree more, Paul COI is by far IMHO, the best WW2 film out there - ever. Devoid of the normal Hollywood smaltz (Speilberg), it is gritty, bitter and unrelenting. I was only singing its praises the other day on FB...nice one. Us chaps need our 'living space' from time to time; there's only so long we can keep up the pretence of being interested in the usual inane and mundane trivia our women seem obsessed with... LOL

Just don't forget the password.
ReplyDelete....Demarcation................
She doesn't read your blog, does she???
ReplyDeleteCheers Big Lee, quite correct though I have never seen it in any stores down here.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul
Very true Tim, dodgy Captain and Camp adj...not thats there is anything wrong with it!
ReplyDeleteHi Paul, I have the Eagle, but will check out a K Mart over here now. Eagle has Landed would be a great game!
ReplyDeleteHope you were watching Nick, take a copy to class and tell em to watch and learn!
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Too true Geordie, demarcation indeed! Must read the book.
ReplyDeleteMonty, you are a bitter man with great taste! I do think some of the actual combat scenes could have been done better and the F4U's were interesting, but all in all a good watch.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul
LLM, such a waste of a great password!
ReplyDeleteEasternfunker, of course not she knows her place! (In the kitchen of course)
ReplyDeleteThis may be my last post!
