Cold War Revell Challenger 1 Pt5 Final

Into day three of a storm down here, and with nothing better to do after work today I managed to finish off the Challenger I.
Painted tracks and MG Mounting, ammo boxes, range finder and gun sleeve.
Added decals and made a tank ID number card for the rear of the turret. I also added a few camo nets to dress it up a little.
Next up was the fun parts which of course is the dirtying up process and a light wash. To me this is the best part because its usually the last part, and besides the wife thinks I am a dirty little man sometimes, so I must really get into it.
Still missing the Tank Commander, but I will sort that out later.
A little close up of some of the detailing I carried out, Just some minor wearing around the hatches. Totally awesome MG tooling in this kit.
So the end to this kit, which has be a bit of a mission, however the end result is all that matters here, and I am rapt with the end product. Minus the linked tracks and it could be a dream build. Model on.

  1. A beauty...
I'm curious about the great rocky bits in the background. Tell us about those too, please.

  2. Thanks Geordie, I knew you Brits would like it. Bit of a shame I could not paint it in MERDC, but there you go.

  3. Cheers Peabody. The rocky bits are the raised parts of egg cartons, with some squashed down, plastered in plaster of paris, with some bandages.

    Hope that helps.
