Dave has sent me some pics of his latest completed project in 1/72 scale, Italeri's King Tiger.
This big cat was originally produced by ESCI in the 1970's so it has its flaw's.
As Dave says...
"The King Tiger came with both rubber band tracks and segmented track links. However both were pretty rubbish with no detail on the interior face of the track at all. At the end of the day, although I considered starting with the individual links, practicality won out and we went with rubber bands"
Both Dave and I are not fans of these rare beasts, I think only around 85 were ever made, but this one looks quite nice with the cam scheme.
Cheers as always my one legged friend!
Uhhhhh big kitten!
ReplyDeleteNice ambush scheme mate!

Good idea to avoid the length and link tracks. Although I do not normally find them a problem (the Revell ones are a breeze in my opinion) the l&l tracks in the Kingtiger and PzIV. were hell to deal with. In the end, all I could say was thank God for schurzen. Other than that, its a great little kit.
