Hasegawa GMC Tanker

Desert Dave had a good weekend in and around the Christchurch markets looking to score a few bargains.

"1/72 Hasegawa GMC Aircraft Fuel Tanker. This kit was partly made and had no decals, but was otherwise complete. So last night I cleaned it up a bit and started hand painting it with Tamiya Olive Drab. I hate painting with Tamiya acrylics by hand and I'm thinking that I will be doing a third coat tonight. On a happy note, it comes with 3 little figures that add a bit of interest to the kit. I should have it complete in the next few days and will send some shots. This was $4.00 and is actually quite a nice kit. (as most Hasegawa stuff is) I have some left over Matchbox US decals I scored the other weekend, so will add those to the kit"

Some blooming nice work if you ask me.
Cheers Dave.

  2. A very useful model. I have a few of these - mostly serving as part of the logistic tail of US Armoured Divisions. And one lend-leased to my Russians.

  5. Hi Tim, yes a fine kit, but like most Hasegawa models, probably a little overscale.

Those reds, never lend them anything, they will use it against you man!

  6. Thanos, I think they are good too, and did not know they came with the kit.

Perfect for that airfield or seebee diorama.
