Carrying on with the build, the top half of the hull is next. Pretty much straight forward skills here with good detail on the fuel cells.

Re cutting the holes for the dozer blade. Simple mistake that will be corrected by putty.

Add the tracks. Very nice vinyl tracks that I heated together with a flame and knife, but they lack the droop of the real thing (They kit on the box shows the same). Again an easy fix.

A few drops of super glue on top of the road wheels solved this. It bonds quite well.

Start of the turret build. A few tiny pieces on here, but a breeze compared to some other kits.
It's coming along nicely. I am particularly enjoying the look of the tracks.
ReplyDeleteCheers Tim. I know what you mean about the tracks, huge improvement on the Airfix types. Matchboxs tracks were not too bad for their day either.

Brilliant idea for the tracks mate,I will be knicking that idea on mine.
ReplyDeleteLet us know if they take paint.
Cheers Rich.
Hi Rich, steal away, unlike the old Airfix vinyl tracks these are super glue friendly.
ReplyDeleteThe tracks seem to take water based paints well too, so a win win situation.
Cheers Paul
