Finishing off the turret tonight leaves the kitset complete. I decided to cut the front track guards off. This is pretty common on Soviet tanks as it is only sheet metal and tends to bend and buckle in the field. I would say with the BTU-55 dozer blade attached this tank would sustain some damage in use to the front of the hull.

In my opinion one of my easiest builds, 98% hassle free.

Under the aux fuel drums I will add a anti ditching log, and maybe a scatchbuild cleaning rod tube for the main gun.

Underside shot showing the blade attachment points and tracks.

One of the only drawbacks to the kit is the lack of 12.7 AAMG. I was thinking of adding a scatchbuilt one but have decided I am far too lazy to bother with it. Painting up next.
That was an impressively quick build. It looks a lovely kit.
ReplyDeleteI will have to get this version with the blade, I have got the mine roller one. These trumpeter models are a dream to build mate.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing it with a lick of paint.
Cheers Rich.
Nice, a very tidy build
ReplyDeleteHi Rich, the mine roller version looks interesting as well and I might try to pick it up as well.
ReplyDeleteYou can never have enough T55's after all.

Too true Al, the price is worth it for this kit.
ReplyDeleteI expect to see good progress with the Meteor this weekend.
Cheers Paul
Yes Tim. I am more impressed by the fit. They have planned this kit very well and the hull in particular is awesome compared to some of the Eastern Europe companies.
