I spent a solid few hours in the loft tonight, with heavy rain and winds it was the place to be. Making good progress on the Bedford, but while the paint drys my multi tasking mind had me look into the stash box for something else to carry on with. Being in bit of a British bent at the moment I grabbed a pre-loved Matchbox Morris from the 17 Pounder set. Most of it was there so that was a bonus. Light trucks are always useful at Battalion and Brigade level for Command Decision.

Fixed back together in 5 minutes with super glue. The previous owner had obviously painted it in the scheme from the box which was nice, and the fit was not too bad. But if it's going on the table I would like it to look a little sharper in the paint department.

So I gave it a quick OD repaint, and toned down the flat black with a lighter shade, sometimes flat black is too black I think. Lame attempt of mickey mouse disruptive scheme and it was finished. 35 minutes total.

If I had built this kit from scratch I would have put a little more effort into it. This now goes into the pile of British stuff awaiting decals, which is growing at an alarming rate.
Model on!
Good work.
ReplyDeleteNice work Paul ;)
ReplyDeleteA good old kit. Well not that old. Quite a tricky kit to build both strongly and well. Mine are built for strength...
ReplyDeleteNicely done. And a such speed!

Thanks Fran, slap of paint thats all.
ReplyDeleteCheers Monty. Just keeping busy mate.
ReplyDeleteHi Tim, yes the axle assembly is poorly designed, and the balance is almost impossible to acheive.
ReplyDeleteProbably Matchbox's trickiest kit.
Nick, speed is not everything, I just am trying to clear the hoard.
ReplyDeleteThe British kit looks very mobile Paul :)
ReplyDeleteYes Geordie, just waiting for the chance to dash across the low countries, Monty knows his stuff, hopefully.
