I fought the urge not to buy anything for a month but relented when I bidded on this item. For 7 $NZD it was a steal. Why would I want a premade Hasegawa M24 Chaffee that frankly is covered in cobwebs and a rather thick layering of paint...
Well, to add to my 1980's NZ Armoured Units I need a M41 Walker Bulldog. I can get a M41 in 1/87 from ROCO but it looks too small with the M113's etc it would be based with, and it can be expensive. The M24 Chaffee on the other hand is quite common in 1/76 and 1/72 and it looks enough like a M41 that a simple conversion can be carried out to improve it.
This will be one the urgent list as I only need one to complete my Unit. Model on!
Nice kit. All my M-24s are the more readily available Matchbox version. As my ROCO M-41s were converted into M-18 Hellcats I may well have a spare '41 turret if you need it.
ReplyDeleteHi Tim, I have a Matchbox M24 as well but think at 1/76 it might be a bit small for conversion to a M41.
ReplyDeleteThe ROCO turret I think would even be smaller, carry out a mating exercise and see, if you get a chance.
Cheers Paul
