M41 Bulldog Kitbash 3 Final

MERDC Finished and a dark wash, leaves the conversion is complete.
The smoke discharger is from a ESCI Leopard 1A3 and has been slightly modified to look kiwi-ish. Halogen spotlights were also mounted all around the top of the turret, but would be way to fiddly to use on the game table.
No markings applied as the Kiwi ones were very small and discrete. I only need one for the Command tank so it will be easy to identify.
This kit completes my Cold War NZ 1st Armoured Regiment. Not perfect as the Scorpion replaced the M41 in service, but I have taken the liberty to keep a troop of M41's to use as the Command Stand. A Squadron (Queen Alexandra's) is a Cavalry Squadron, has two Troops of Scorpions, B Squadron (Waikato/Wellington East Coast) is a mixed Squadron and has a Troop of Scorpions and a Troop of M113A1's, and C Squadron (NZ Scots) with is a APC Squadron with two Troops of M113A1's.

Model on!

  2. One of your best efforts Paul. I am thinking the beaches around Canterbury more suitable for a landing than Auckland:)

  6. Hi Geordie. MERDC was only used for around 15 years or so by 2 Armies, the US and NZ although some of the lower NATO forces used a variant, Greece and Turkey come to mind.

So bare that in mind when and if the time comes.

    Regards Paul
