More Wednesday night action was enacted last night with Evil "Red" Al again taken to task with the NK continuing its onslaught against the peace loving people of the Republic of Korea. In the centre looking down the face of a 2+ Regimental assault I decide to shorten the line by re positioning the US Airborne Battalion in line with the ROK Reservist Battalion. In doing so I have to carry out a close assault on the remnants of an NK Regiment that had been it had been in contact with since the start of battle. This is successful and the Regiment is destroyed with minor US losses. Al had what he described as "Cold Dice", I put it down to crap troops!

Hind close air support is not available due to its mission of troop transport overloading its payload, much to Al's disappointment and my mirth.

With the US Airborne Battalion moved, the flank of the now understrength ROK Regular Battalion is now open. Again to stop envelopment a close assault is called for, and passing their morale with flying colours they move in for the kill, out in the open the now under fire NK Regimental HQ puts in a call for some mortar support, Al throws the dice for the communication to go through...Another red failure, perhaps the Dear Leader should invest in better comms.

I have two Companies of ROK Reservists still morale failed, so I have moved up the Brigade HQ elements to support them. When they finally do get their shite together they will act as the Brigade Reserve.

The US Airborne Battalion still on the move. Some mortar support by the NK's is called for here as well and is more successful and finally Al wears down one of the Platoons. But eventually the US Battalion breaks free, minus a Humvee Platoon destroyed at the last moment.

After the failed call for tube support here, its close quarter battle time. Two full strength Companies overun the NK Regt HQ. No quarter is given or taken.

Meanwhile the NK red tide continues to advance on the right flank.

In the National Bank of Korea, two Platoons of the Regular ROK Battalion is cut off, emplaced they have some protection from the rubble and again poor dice from Al lets my Infantry strike back with good results, however they are pinned, and now face continuing the battle without support. God bless those plucky lads.
More to come...
...and the dice gods (cold dice my arse), good as usual sir.
ReplyDeleteYes Fran, Al likes to think of explanations for guffs that does not actually relate to reality.
ReplyDeleteIn all other respects he does come across as reasonably normal, or as normal as a Marine can aspire to be.
"...Evil Red Al..." - love it!
ReplyDeleteCold dice, I have to use that one myself next time I get a whipping.
ReplyDeleteCold beer should warm up the dice!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers Rich.
I love the propaganda posters :) Nice battle I see!
ReplyDeleteYes Tim, Al is Red thru and thru, he has a black heart though.
ReplyDeleteHe is so evil that when we were conducting a group build on Airfix's latest Bedford trucks he hid A-21, the rear axle on me.
That is how evil Al really is.
Hi Paul, I aim to use it as well, whipping or no whipping.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Hi Rich, I only had one beer left in the fridge, Al did share it with me however.
ReplyDeleteThanks Yori, no red posters in sight however. It is a bit of a nail biter at the moment.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Nip and tuck, graet report
