Field Gun Fun

Dragged out of the spares box in the weekend was this old ESCI 25 Pounder in a reasonable state. I have been giving it 5 minutes here and there over the last few days.
The turntable wheel is from a trashed Airfix 25 pounder and fits...Sort of, with quite a bit of super glue.
The pins that hold the gun in place were broken off, and being the lazy git I am I could not be stuffed mucking around with them. More super glue and a high angle takes care of that.
Just a wash and decals needed. I now have 6 of these bad boys which in Command Decision terms is a Field Regiment, so this will be the last 25 Pounder I will need to bother with...My wife shook her head when I said this to her, she knows me too well I think.

Model on gents!

  3. Good work - quite a few of my 25pdrs are 'spares box specials'. Herself is quite correct - I'm sure you need several more.

  5. Very nice model! And the super glue did his job!

PS: I took my wife with me to a hobby shop, and you know what the result was? I bought as twice as much as I had planned! She picked the sets out for me :-D

  8. Nice work. High angle fire is know as 'splash', gunners will report this to an FO when the round is halfway through its flight because it takes longer to get there, and we don't like to keep FOs waiting now do we:)

  11. Hi Tim, the trailer's are being used up slowly. Quite correct I think it would be good to replace all the Airfix ones with the ESCI types.

    Cheers Paul
