The latest scenery project is a Nissen Hut type structure.

I borrowed/stole this from the youngest son. Simple kids army toy set building painted up and based.

Thousand of these and their American cousins (the Quonset) were constructed during WW1 until WW2, so they can cover a good period range, and many countries.

The doors should really be on ends of the building, but that's rivet counting I think.

Nothing more than a piece of eye candy or perhaps a target, but I think it belongs on a wargame table, the boy however now its been painted and based thinks different!
Shameless theft of a child's toy? I like it!
ReplyDeleteI knew you at least would appreciate it Tim.
ReplyDeleteExcellent acquisition in a "time of war".
ReplyDeleteCheers Rodger, one can't be too picky in an emergency! He will get over it one hopes.
ReplyDeleteI like that a lot as I need a lot for my operation sealion game.
ReplyDeletenice.i`ve seen those huts in dollar stores. hmmm might be nice to get a few
ReplyDeleteThat poor kid will probably need years of therapy because of this...
ReplyDeleteI always thought it was "Nissen Hut" but maybe the Japanese bought him out! :p
ReplyDeleteYes Fran I want another three or four as well. I would like to base them in rows or a open box format.
ReplyDeleteYou probably can still get these at dollar stores I would think.
Cheers Paul
Hi Tsold9000, get them, they are a good buy. wash with detergent before painting to remove the oil.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Tim I think that previous experiences within my family unit have guaranteed this.
ReplyDeleteHe will get over it.
Ah yes Nissen Hut, rather than Nissan Hut. I think I will left the title as it is, just to get people attention.
ReplyDeleteMy mistake.
