I burned the midnight oil this morning finishing the rebuilt Matador off.

The larger wheels are really needed to make the truck look correct. I believe the original wheels are on the small size.

Quite happy about the rear tarp, which I stole from the Airfix/Heller GMC. It only needed a little cutting down to fit. Decals were spares fro the Airfix QLD set.

I have a hopefully complete one of these waiting in a box in the stash, maybe this will be my next project...
Marvellous Paul, simply marvellous!!! :-)

Great result Paul.
ReplyDeleteNice work. I have one of these ready for paint on my desk. I've been trying to find out how early these went into service. Do you have any idea?
ReplyDeleteDimitri
Thanks Thanos, the finish could have been better, but the thick layers of paint underneath natched that.
ReplyDeleteCheers Rodger.
ReplyDeleteHi Dimitri, I am pretty sure it was 1939.

Thanks Paul... I was thinking of using them for the BEF in 1940. I can't find anything else, other than the Bofors tractor.

Dimitri, Matchbox/Revell Montys caravan is a Leyland Retriever, this would be fine with a general service deck.
ReplyDeleteThe trucks out of the Airfix Aircraft refueling, rescue and recovery sets are also not too out of place.
Give them a crack,
Paul
That looks really well, damn good work.
ReplyDeleteI like Airfix very much, better with your good job.
ReplyDeleteErhan
Thanks Fran, its a mighty beast.
ReplyDeleteHi Erhntly, yeah I think the bigger wheels make all the difference.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Yeah, that's awesome, like the tarp
ReplyDeleteTrue Al, the Airfix one is bit of a featureless mess to be honest.
ReplyDeleteReady to roll on "Hell's Highway" with XXX Corp :)
ReplyDeleteGood Job
