Matchbox M16 Conversion Complete

I finished this off the other night with the application of some decals and a good old fashioned dirty up.
I hate putting the star on the bonnet, but it looks rather naked with it.
Not much modelling carried out yesterday, in fact none other than a 1:1 scale trampoline.
Seen here with the Airfix rebuild I carried out earlier in the month.

Model on dudes! And remember to post your model hauls so I can drool over them.

  1. Lovely job Paul. I have fond memories of the Matchbox halftrack as I had a rather battered example long before I owned the Airfix M3. Indeed it served as my command vehicle in several early (c.1977) wargames before being bodged into an M3 Scout Car. It is long since dead.

  3. That is so cool!

Where do you get 'em? Just been down to Acorn. Couldn't see any M3s, and the Stuka I'd like for Crete (or a late war take-that-airfield mission) is kinda price @ $24.

  4. Hah, thats funny Tim, as I was talking to Al on Christmas eve about coverting Airfix M3's to the scout car version and using the tracks for other things.

1977...Cripes, it deserves to be in plastic heaven mate.

    Regards Paul

  5. Nick, yeah Acorn is quite pricey on popular types.

    Try Mr Models from

    http://www.mrmodels.co.nz/kitset-model-pages/aircraft-72_Academy.html Ju-87G $16.95, best I can find.

http://www.mrmodels.co.nz/kitset-model-pages/Military_72nd_Airfix.html M3 Halftrack for $11.95 again the best I can do.

http://www.hobbycity.co.nz/shop/Plastic+and+Wood+Kitsets/172+Scale+Kitsets/Airfix/172+WHITE+HALF-TRACK+M3A1.html has them for 17.00$...A bit pricey.

    Cheers Paul
