More Matador Madness 2

I finished off the build part of the Matador yesterday, with the Airfix Scammell wheels attached after placing spacers under the axle leaf springs.
I also cut down another GMC tarp for the rear, and filled the gap at the top with putty. The gap at the bottom will be left unattached, just like the real thing.
Last off were the front lights, which were plastic indicator lights from a old 1/24 scale truck. Next up the painting.

Model on!

  3. Hi, I found photos online that show the Matador looking just like the Airfix kit, and with the larger/fatter tyres. It appears that both were common - but I'm so glad you abandoned the 88mm gun wheels as they just looked so wrong! My days are always brighter when there's a new post on your blog - so thanks for that, Mate!

  4. No worries Steve, could you please send me a link for the pics?

Agreed about the 88mm wheels, although I will not chuck them away just yet.

I am glad someone is pleased to see me anyway.

    Regards Paul

  5. I'm not sure a search link would work Paul, but if you do a Google Image Search with "AEC Matador" (use the inverted commas) the first 20 or so pictures brought up show both types of wheel/tyre combos. I use this function/facility all the time and it rarely lets me down! Using the inverted commas stops you getting a million pictures of Spanish geezers fighting bulls.....
