Painted last night and a very light wash tonight see's the end of the Airfix Matador.

I don't really care for the hook on the front, seems a little dodgy to me.

Especially pleased with the rear tarp. I think it's a major improvement on the kit piece.

Decals again from the Airfix Bedford QLD, and of course I replaced the US driver with the Airfix Universal (Bren) Carrier Driver.

Both Matadors complete. I have four Scammell tyres left...Should I convert another one...?
Model on!
Really like the decals as well, great finish and work.
ReplyDeleteThey both look really good. Very nice paintwork and the wash has brought out the detail very nicely.
ReplyDelete..."I have four Scammell tyres left...Should I convert another one...?"...the best things come in threes....don't they???!!
ReplyDeleteLovely work Paul. And the front towing hook has always looked a bit iffy to me as well.
ReplyDeleteI have one of these underway. It's not going to be in the same league as these guys of yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm held up on whether to permanently base or not (would be for MegaBlitz) and also on unit insignia.
The first green I used was very close to the one you have - mine was a Tamyia Olive Green I think. I ended up going over it in a darker shade. I like how the canvas has come up in your models.
Excellent! I have been following their progress for a while now! When were these trucks put into action?
ReplyDeleteHow many more mate?Nicely done by the way keep them coming.
ReplyDeleteCheers Rich.
Hi Paul, very nice finish... I like it ..

What a beautiful paintjob! I love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for asking where I am in my Blog! I´m fine but the job takes it´s toll!
Thanks Fran, Happy to report I have not mucked up a decal application in at least a month which most be some kind of record.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Thanks Rodger. I am a true believer to the wash faith after a long time convincing.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul
Hi Hugh, I am tempted and should pull finger out and just do it.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Tim, I may delete it yet or hide it with a tarp maybe.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Great piece of work, Paul!
ReplyDeleteHi Sun of York, its all in the practice mate. The tarp does need to be a lighter shade and I mixed that colour by hand. I think the black gives the shape a bit of character.
ReplyDeleteThe truck itself is a Vallejo Light Green which I added a few drops of black to darken.
This ain't a contest!
Good luck and preservere mate.
Hallo Belgium, In service from 1939, but not too common until the late 1940 months I think.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul
I have one more I may change Rich, but I may not change it.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul
Hi Erhntly, I am glad you like it. It's a nice kit to work with really.
ReplyDeleteGood to here from you Mork and cheers. Find time mate, you need a break every now and then.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Thanks Mojo, green on black is something simple and effective. Enjoying it makes a difference as well I think
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul
