For my Anti Tank Platoon organic to the Cold War British Battalion I wanted something a little more original than a Milan, I wanted a WOMBAT!
I used tow pieces of sprue, some parts from the spares box and two wheels from a old Jeep.
Not my best work, but I am reasonably happy with the look of it.
Figures are of course Matchbox NATO Para's with minor conversions.
The .50 Cal spotter rifle is the propeller shaft of a Airfix LCM III cut back
This was my last stand to finish the Support Company off, so that sub unit will probably be the next post.
Model on!

Splendid! I remember seeing a LWB Landrover mounting a Wombat at a little Army exhibition in Scotland in the early '70s. I emulated it by wedging my Britains 25 pounder on a Corgi Landrover 109...
ReplyDeletelooks pretty good to me .
ReplyDeleteHad to look the wombat up, nice work...
ReplyDeleteNeat work, reminds me too much of dragging one around Barrossa!
ReplyDeleteOh you are a clever lad!

ReplyDeleteNice Paul...you're building up a formidable force there mate...
ReplyDeleteCheers Rodger, it will not win any beauty contests but T55's watch out!
ReplyDeleteA classy piece of hardware Fran.
ReplyDeleteIrqan, I am sure the WOMBAT appreciated the effort.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul
Thanks Nick, but clever is a little strong. Desperate might be more apt.
ReplyDeleteRegards Paul
Cheers Al, original it is.
ReplyDeleteWe must keep blighty safe from the Red Menace Monty!
ReplyDeleteLove the "exhaust funnel" on that thing :)
ReplyDeleteNice kit!
Yes Geordie, it is a cut down bomb casing.
ReplyDeleteUm Tim, I do not know if the series III would handle that!
ReplyDeleteNice conversion.
I was about 6 at the time.....
ReplyDeleteDoes that really make a difference...
ReplyDeleteNo - it's just a better excuse than I have now.
