2nd Airfix StuG IIIG

The second of my StuG's to go through the revamping process.
This particular kit had taken a nose dive and both front sprocket wheels had broken. I replaced them with Matchbox Panzer III. A splash of paint for rubber on the smaller wheels made a huge difference.
I added a MG42 and once again had to fix a broken barrel. A anti ditching log was added.
Two down one to go! Model on...

  1. Very nice Paul!

I have a couple of Airfix stugs still sitting in their boxes in my cupboard but to be honest the thought of trying to put them together is not exciting me!

Get them out and rip into them, you will not be sorry.

Seems like the StuG is one of the better Airfix models :)
I still remember the nightmare of that Tiger-tank...
Go on, show us the last of these buggers ;)

  6. Fab work...I'm inspired. I've some built and some are still unmade kits but I keep forgetting these were the back bone of the army. Forget my Tiger/Panther obsession I need to sort more Stug's. Thanks Paul.

    1. Cheers SRD (H).

I can see the need for Panthers, but I do think people get a little carried away with the Tiger's.

      Bring on the StuG's!
