FIM-92 Stinger Platoon

Quick post today with a Platoon Air Defence stand for my Cold War US Forces.
Caesar figure with a fairly simple looking conversion from a LAW type weapon into the MANPADS (How silly is that name?) Stinger.
The M60 Gunners is of course from the ESCI Modern US Infantry set.

He has a paint conversion concerning his lower arms...I painted them.
Simple enough stand to make, Al's commie Hinds better watch out!
Model on!

  1. Great conversion Paul, some formations may have whole companies of AD attached I think?

  2. Yeah farmed out from Brigade level I believe. Batteries rather than Companies my learned friend.

    1. Thanks Lee, Caesar do a lovely Stinger in their Modern US Elite Force.

Modern may be too kind of description though.

      Regards Paul

  5. Good stuff. Is the M60 there in case the Stinger doesn't work?

    1. I like my Platoon stands to have two figures Tim. Given that it is a weapons type Platoon I thought I had better add in something a little more heavy than a rifle.

I have made a Blowpipe for my Brits, and probably will add a .50 Cal on a AA mount for them. I always remember a photo of a AA .50 mounted at San Carlos bay for air defence.

    1. Hi Tsold, if by MPC you are talking about the Airfix set then the answer is no.

They would be a nice addition but are rare down under.
