The last M1 type in my Cold War US Forces is complete.
It is an earlier M1 105mm armed version rather than the A1 versions for the other two Platoons. Not that you notice the smaller gun.
Process the same as the previous models completed.
I did add some stowage to the top of the turret on the ammo blast panels.
Its a nice honest kit with hassle free construction. Purest's will prefer the Revell kit which apparently is top of the game, but for gaming this is a better value option.
Of course the best thing about this kit is it brings up a Company size element to battle the Roo-skis. I still have a second Company to start, but we are getting there.
Model on!

Hi Paul, very nice completed.

Cheers Erhntly. More firepower, more protection, and more heartache for the reds.
DeleteVery nice work! I do my Company size elements
ReplyDeletethe same with 3 tanks, 3 Companies, one battalion commander tank, so a total of ten
per battalion. Then I plug in the support
elements.
Nice one Don, works out the same with CD. Support elements are always harder in 1/72 or 1/76 to build up, unlike ROCO which seems to have anything available.
DeleteRegards Paul
Once again, I am astounded at your output. Ohh, but these Cold War toys look tempting...

Cheers Nick. Late to bed and early to rise mate. I also multitask myself to bits.
DeleteVariety is the spice of life mate.
Model on.
The overall olive makes a nice change from camo schemes and helps to 'anchor' the vehicles in a particular time. Did Esci ever make an M-1? I have memories of building one in the mid-80s.
ReplyDeleteThey sure did Tim, I have a couple that have featured in background shots.

I should do a post on them really, and after searching for 20 minutes I am surprised I haven't before.
Splendid. Mine (also finished in overall olive) is long departed. I originally built it for the 'Twilight 2000' campaign I ran (with two different groups!) in the late '80s. I also had a Leopard 2 (Hasegawa?) and a selection of die cast pickup trucks and vans.
DeleteExcellent Paul. Another very nice model to add to your army.
ReplyDeleteCheers Rodger. Getting there mate. I have Bradleys staring at me...They are begging to be started.
DeleteUS armoured goodness......
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran. The A2's are supposed remain in service until 2050!
DeleteGood work Paul!
ReplyDeleteCheers Monty.
