Off the table...

After tea tonight I powered thru the two SdKfz 251's until completion, which to be honest was about ninety minutes.
I finished off the scheme with a dark wash after decal operations.
 The Fujimi 251/10 Command track.
"Buffel 1", Fujimi make a nice halftrack with a pretty reasonable detail and price (when you can find them).
The Hasegawa 251/1 or "Eich 2". Probably in the top of the range in detail stakes and options.
The tracks are a bit flabby, but thats my fault for not gluing them down.
The full Company with a couple of ESCI kits I completed two years ago. Be prepared to see this Company in action very soon!

Model on!

  6. I do like these!

It'll be interesting to see what the Plastic Soldier Company do with their 1/72nd version of the 251 which is apparently due to be released very soon!

    1. Thanks kingleypark. I have not seen these yet, do you know which version they are (ABC or D models)?

    2. They are planning to release the D version first and later the C version. The web site also talks about a "conversion" kit for the 251 but no details as to what that may include. No prices as yet but their Pz IV kits sell for £12.50 for 3 models so I assume these will be similarly priced

    3. Oh thats a good price, and worth the wait for 3 I think.

      Cheers for that.

  7. Nicely done. I don't think I have either the Fujimi or Hasegawa '251 kits on fleet - most of mine are Esci and Matchbox with a few Britannia resin kits and at least one Skytrex metal lump.

    1. I myself have a mountain of Matchbox halftracks as well. They are showing their age however with the tracks coming apart.

A problem I am hoping to tackle fairly soon maybe by basing them.

  8. Very cool, how many 251s do you have in total? I have enough to mount a company but would like enough to do a full battalion at some stage, might get some of those Armourfast ones

    1. Hi Al, I have quite a few made...Perhaps 15 or so and more than a few still to build.

Yes I think the Armourfast one are pretty good looking at the however if PSC will release 3 per box they might be a better option.

Why are you not at work!
