On The Table Tonight

Since I have completion of the StuG Battery under my belt, and probably much to the relief of some viewers, it's time to move on to my next project...Jagdpanzer IV's. I am planning on one full strength Company of three or two under strength Companies of two or three. Above ESCI 1/72 scale kit. Complete except for a broken track, which will be hidden by the side plating shield.
Matchbox version next. I built this about seven years ago and it has seen no action. The plastic on the track is fairly brittle and I have had to make some minor repairs.
More Matchbox, this one was purchased as is and is pretty good, No repairs needed, just a new paint job.
The worst of the lot. Another Matchbox with a generous layer of super glue splashed everywhere, no barrel.
Last one yet another Matchbox hidden under my son's version of camouflage. This is all glued on and maybe a bit of a pain to remove, but the boy is happy for it to join the ranks.
 Heaps of spare shields.
And a barrel found in the spares box.

All set, ready to model on!

  2. I rather like your lad's camo! I'm sure it could be very effecting in the right setting. I carried out a rather unconventional conversion of the Matchbox kit which I'll blow your mind with in a future blog post...

    1. Hi Fran. Improvise adapt and overcome...Or buy spare kits for parts.

  4. You could always staple that broken track on the ESCI kit, that's how I have handled them recently. I have built the Italeri kit, it's one of my favorites.

    1. Hi Ben, yep I usually do but it was about a inch too short for the staple to mate.

It is a nice looking kit all right.

      Cheers Paul

    1. Cheers Monty. I do like the idea about not wasting old kits, and I get more satisfaction out of re firbing rather than out of the box.

      Green in so many ways.
